Ok, I'll admit it, I was one of the crazy people that was counting down the days until Charlotte Tilbury's makeup line could be shipped to the US and yes I made sure I was wide awake, debit card in hand on September 2 at 6 'o clock in the morning to place my order right when the site launched. I know what you're thinking, I was just in London where I had ample time to purchase anything Charlotte Tilbury. Trust me I did browse the beauty counter at Selfridges a few times, however there was always one thing that would come to my mind before I committed to a purchase and that was the price. Because of the currency conversion it is usually cheaper to purchase items in the US than in the UK, and when I logged on to the Charlotte Tilbury website that morning it turned out that I was right. So I'm sure you're wondering what did my tired eyes put in my shopping basket that early September morning? Well, here is what I got from my first (and most likely not my last) purchase from Charlotte Tilbury.
Charlotte's Cheek to Chic blushes are one of the most innovative blushes I have ever seen. The thing that I love the most about this blush is the whole design and the method for using it. Charlotte say's that the best way to use this blush is to swish your brush around the outside color and place that across your cheeks, then tap your brush in the middle color and pop it on the apple of your cheeks. By doing this it gives your blush more dimension and a more glowing effect.
Charlotte's Colour Chameleons are cream eyeshadow pencils that are categorized for specific eye colors giving both a day and a night option. Even though I have hazel eyes, I purchased the day look for brown eyes in Dark Pearl. The color is very pigmented in a way that in one swipe you get a good amount of shadow on your eyes. It can be smudged out for a quick day look or built up to an intense smoky eye night look. The product doesn't crease and is smudge proof unlike some other cream eyeshadows. It's the longest lasting cream eyeshadow product that I have ever used. Overall, this eyeshadow is a really good product and if you were going to purchase one thing from Charlotte's makeup line, I would recommend one of her Colour Chameleons. I know that I will be purchasing more of them in the future.
Charlotte's Lip Cheats are in the basic sense lip liners. They are called Lip Cheats because you can fill out your lips without them looking overdrawn. Charlotte's Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk is the perfect "your lips but better" color in a neutral rosy pink. The formula is creamy but dries matte, and I find that it lasts a long time on the lips. It can be worn on its own for a more natural look, or be pared with a lipstick or gloss. If you are a first time lip liner buyer and are a little hesitant at using one, I would recommend Charlotte's Lip Cheat in Pillowtalk.
After choosing all my makeup purchases I knew I just had to get Charlotte's iconic makeup bag as well. On one side of the bag are actual lip prints from iconic celebrities such as Kate Moss and Stella McCartney and on the other side there is one of Charlotte's well known quotes. One of the reasons I wanted to place my order right away when the site launched was because the first 100 customers received a deluxe sample of Charlotte's Magic Cream. Thankfully, getting up early paid off because I was one of those first 100 customers! It has been known in the beauty industry that Charlotte had invented her own moisturizer that was dubbed her Magic Cream, and she is now sharing it with everyone. It is luxury moisturizer that has anti-aging properties and brings life back to your skin. After only using it a few times I'm already addicted and will probably purchase the full size when I run out.
