Add Some Life Back to Your Hair!

Quick question, raise your hand if you enjoy washing your hair... and waiting for it to dry... or blow drying it... and styling it... and having your hair take up majority of your beauty routine?

Now don't lie, I know none of you raised your hands, maybe a few of you did and that's ok, but if you're like me, washing your hair can just be a hassle. It's not what you look forward to in the morning or night. For me, I have long, thick, straight color treated hair, and I despise washing it. Well, despise might be too harsh of a word, but you get what I mean. I used to have to wash my hair every single night because it was so oily that by the next day it looked like there was a pool of oil collecting on my head. I now can go without washing my hair anywhere between 2 and 7 days after years of training my hair and using one of my holy grail hair products. That holy grail product is dry shampoo and my favorite brand is Batiste. You can find it at Ulta, CVS, Walgreens or your local drugstore. They cost around $8.00 but I always like to buy them on sale. One can will last you a long time, so you get your moneys worth. Just think of it like a can of hairspray, even if you use it everyday, it still takes awhile to use it all up.

Dry shampoo can be used in a variety of ways such as on those days when you didn't get a chance to wash your hair or for those of you that might have limp or lifeless hair everyday. Even those with curly or wavy hair and people that have color treated hair can find a need for dry shampoo to give them a little extra lift. One of my favorite things that can come from dry shampoo is if you just don't want to wash your hair and need something to absorb the oil left in your hair and give it back some life, dry shampoo can help. My favorite for these types of days is the Batiste Floral & Flirty Blush dry shampoo. Just spray it at your roots and let it sit for a few minutes and then brush it out. Another good use is if you just washed your hair and want to style it or feel that it needs more texture or volume, dry shampoo can help with that as well. Just spray it throughout your hair to give it that texture you're looking for. Also, if your hair is fine or seems to fall flat, dry shampoo can help. Just use it daily in your routine on your roots and throughout your hair to give you the volume and boost you are looking for. My favorite for these types of days is the Batiste XXL Volume dry shampoo. If you color treat your hair and hate seeing your natural hair color grow out, there is a dry shampoo out there that can help with that too. My favorite for these types of days is the Batiste A Hint of Color Light & Blonde. There is also Medium & Brunette, Dark & Deep Brown, and Vibrant & Red. Trust me the minute you start using dry shampoo, it will become a much loved addition to your hair care routine too.

  1. Hey Alyssa! I'm following your blog on blogspot and Bloglovin'. I'm really loving my photo quality you have, I'm such a photography person that when I see quality photos I have to follow that person :) Batiste is an awesome brand, it's probably one of the very few brands that don't leave that white cast on my hair. Have you ever tried the Dove Dry Shampoo?
