Try Before You Buy

Being able to try before you buy is one of the best things about beauty, haircare, and skincare products. I recently traded in some of my Sephora points to get three deluxe samples of products I've been dying to try. I always take advantage of trading in my Sephora points for deluxe samples because if I don't like the product, I don't feel guilty for purchasing it. Another way to get samples of products is to just ask the store employees. Whether you're at Sephora, Ulta, MAC or any beauty counter in a department store, you can ask for a sample of most products. This way you don't have to worry about purchasing something you don't end up liking. I'm glad I tried these three products before buying them because one was a disappointment, one was average, and one was amazing.

Bumble and Bumble's haircare line is a cult favorite in the beauty world, but it is also known as having some of the best hair products. The Bumble and Bumble Repair Blow Dry is no exception because this product gives a great first impression and really works. The product is serum in a cream that you put on your damp hair before you blow dry it. The creme has a sweet smell and is very light weight so it absorbs into your hair quickly. This treatment helps heal split ends and prevents future breakage and damage to your hair. I concentrated the creme on the ends of my hair where I have the most damage and after just one blow dry I saw results. My ends usually look dry and damaged, but the this made my hair look and feel noticeably healthier and smoother. I will be purchasing the full size of the Repair Blow Dry in the near future.

Boscia is a skincare line I have been wanting to try out for awhile. The Tsubaki Cleansing Oil-Gel is a gel that, when mixed with water and massaged into the face, removes all of  the makeup and dirt that has built up throughout the day. I found this cleanser to be average because it just seemed to get the job done and that was all. Now I'm not saying it's bad product because in the end it works, but this cleanser is also said to hydrate the skin and help protect the skin's moisture barrier. I have normal to combination skin, so it is very dry in the winter, and just after a few uses I didn't see any drastic results to the hydration of my skin. I'm sure over time the product helps with hydration, so I'm going to continue to use my deluxe sample. I might even purchase the full size in the future because like I said, the cleanser works and the product smells absolute divine.

The Boscia Luminizing Black Mask was actually the thing I was most excited to try when I got my Sephora package. As you probably know, I love face masks and I've been wanting to try a Boscia face mask. The Luminzing Black Mask is a peel off mask, so after you apply it and it drys, you peel it off your face instead of washing or wiping the mask This mask is said to clarify the skin and help minimize the appearance of pores. Well, I don't think this mask really did anything. After a few uses, I didn't find my skin clearer or any differences to my pores. I think that because you get to peel the mask off your face, people believe the mask is working when it really isn't. I will use up the rest of my sample, but other than that I will not be purchasing the full size.

  1. Being back to try before you commit to buying is key - especially when the products are costly. The B&B looks amazing! I'll have to give it a try. XO
