Sephora Friends & Family Sale!

Wednesday, November 12, 2014

Well, the holiday season is upon us and with that comes every beauty lovers favorite time of year: Sephora Friends and Family Sale! With everything in Sephora being 20% off and all the new holiday collections being launched, that's enough to make anyone go on a shopping spree! I thought I'd share with you all what I purchased from the sale and what my first impressions of the products are.

Four words: you need this palette! I have admired the NARS holiday blush palettes over the years but have never purchased one until this year. This palette is perfect with three blushes, a highlighter and a bronzer. One of the blushes is apart of the NARS permanent collection and two are new colors that can only be seen in this palette. The blush apart of the permanent collection is Deep Throat, which is a shimmery peach. The two limited edition blushes are Sex Fantasy, which is a pale pastel pink, and Final Cut which is a soft coral. The highlighting blush is Miss Liberty, which is a soft shimmery peach, and the bronzer is the infamous Laguna, which is a warm brown with a hint of gold shimmer. Overall, this palette has everything you need and will last you for ages.

I know what you are all thinking, why did I buy two blush palettes? I never intended on purchasing the Hourglass blush palette. I had seen pictures of it, even swatched it at a previous trip to Sephora, and I had read many reviews on it, but I told myself I didn't need to buy two blush palettes. Well, two things convinced me: Limited Edition and 20% Off! I'm so glad I decided to purchase this blush palette as well. These three blushes are absolutely beautiful. The two blushes Luminous Flush, which is a rosy pink, and Mood Exposure, which is a soft plum, are blushes that are apart of the permanent collection. The blush Incandescent Electra, which is a light peach, is limited edition to this palette. If you are in need of new blushes, I highly recommend this one.

This product was my impulse buy and like the Hourglass blush palette, it wasn't on my list of things I originally wanted from Sephora. The store I went to didn't have the NARS lipstick color I wanted so I was a little upset, but then as I was walking towards the register I saw the Bite Beauty stand. I saw the color Aubergine, swatched it on the back of my hand, and loved the color so much that I bought it. The color is a rich berry eggplant that isn't too purple and is perfect for fall. I've already worn it once and I absolutely love the formula. It's very hydrating for being matte and I just know I'll get tons of wear out of this lip crayon.

With winter right around the corner my skin is becoming more dry and dehydrated, so I decided to pick up this hydrating primer by Laura Mercier. I've only used it a few times but I can already tell that I'm going to love it during these upcoming colder months.

I've heard so many people talk about the First Aid Beauty line and I've only ever tried their cleanser. I found that the cleanser was just average, so I didn't really feel the need to try anything else. But then a lot of my favorite bloggers started talking about this face mask, and as you might know, face masks (along with lip products) are my kryptonite. I decided to give this one a go and seriously, this face mask is magic. Lately, my skin has been really irritated, very spotty, and had many dry patches. After only using this mask one time, my skin was instantly hydrated, many of the irritations and spots had started to fade, and overall my skin felt smoother. After only using it once, I thought to myself this must just be a fluke, so I used again two nights later and got even better results. If this mask keeps up these amazing results for my skin, it will kick my Glamglow Thirstymud mask to the side as my new favorite face mask.

Have you tried any of these products? What are your current Sephora favorites?
