Wearing red lips is a must during the holiday season! If you're afraid of wearing a red lip don't worry. I was always so afraid of wearing a red lip because I thought it was either too bold or just didn't look right, but now I wear a red lip as many times as I possibly can. Wearing a red lip is all about balancing your makeup, having confidence, and finding the perfect shade. I have put together a list of my top five favorite red lip colors, especially for the holidays!
The Rimmel 107 is a burgundy red color, so the shade is in between a red and a berry. It is matte which is my favorite type of lipstick formula because I feel that it stays on your lips longer. The best part of this lipstick is that it can be found at the drugstore, so it's a great choice for all budgets.
Cherries in the Snow by Revlon is a glossy red with a hint of pink. Like its name says, it is a true cherry red and this shade is most ideal for those with paler skin tones. I like to wear this lipstick more as a stain then full on by just patting it onto my lips to achieve that stain effect.
Maybelline is one of my favorite lipstick brands at the drugstore. The formula of this lipstick is matte but still creamy so it's not drying. The shade Divine Wine is a red vampy dark wine color with brown undertones. This lipstick is great for olive or deeper skin tones, but I'm pale and still love it.
The NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella is my favorite red. It's my all around perfect red shade that is a little deeper than a true red. I like that the formula is matte which makes it long lasting and because it is in a pencil it is so easy to apply. This red the best red shade for everyone that I highly recommend.
If there is one red lip product that is a cult favorite in the beauty world, it would be this one by Sephora. This shade is a true red color that is matte and has a super long lasting formula. It first applies as a highly pigmented cream lip gloss and then dries as a matte lipstick stain. If I had to recommend one of these that everyone must purchase, it would be this one.
