Recently, it has been stormy with lots of wind and rain where I live and I absolutely love rainy days! I have put together a list of my top five rainy day essentials that help make even the worst rainy days go by a bit smoother.
Nothing is more soothing than the sound of rain, and what a better way to pass the time and be able to still hear the sound of the rain then to read a book. I've been reading Tina Fey's Bossypants and would really recommend it for anyone who wants an easy read and a good laugh.
2. Makeup setting spray
It's not easy to water proof your makeup, but I always find that applying a setting spray atop your makeup really helps it stay in place. I recommend the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray.
3. Hair bow
I know that no matter what I do, my hair never wants to cooperate with me on rainy days. The problem is, sometimes I don't want to resort to just putting my hair all the way up, so that's when I put my hair half up, half down, and use a hair bow to accessorize. The hair bow pictured is actually one I made myself and I will be doing a post in the future showing how I make my hair bows.
4. Umbrella
It is very important to invest in a good quality umbrella, especially if you live somewhere it rains a lot. I got this umbrella from Target and it has lasted me through many rainy days.
5. Rain boots
The most essential thing you must have on a rainy day is rain boots. Trust me, having rain boots will completely change your life! You will never look at rainy days the same ever again. I got my rain boots from Coach a few years ago and love every chance I get to wear them.
