If She Doesn't Scare You, No Evil Thing Will

Oh Cruella De Vil... she really is a rather frightening character now isn't she. 101 Dalmatians is one of my favorite Disney films, but I am a bit bias because my family has owned dalmatians my entire life. My dalmatian Hannah is 11 years old and surprisingly I have never dressed up with her as Cruella De Vil. For today's post I was inspired by my NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in the shade Cruella. I paired it with my faux fur coat, a simple all black outfit, and of course my dalmatian, for a more wearable Cruella De Vil look that is more chic and less like a costume.

I purchased the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Cruella last month and have been obsessed with it ever since! Cruella is the perfect shade of red for the fall and winter seasons. Like the name says, the lip pencil has a velvet matte texture that isn't drying and lasts for ages on the lips. I wore it almost everyday at Disneyland a few weeks ago and I would barely remember I was wearing it half the time because it sits so comfortably on the lips. Also, every time I would check if it needed to be touched up, it always looked great and showed almost no signs of wear. If you are looking for a new staple red lip color, I highly recommend NARS Cruella.

I hope you enjoyed my take on Cruella De Vil and have a Happy Halloween!

I Love Disneyland

"All our dreams can come true if we have the courage to pursue them."
- Walt Disney

Paris might hold the key to my heart, but Disneyland holds the key to my soul. I absolutely love Disneyland. It is my favorite place, my happy place, and the place where I'm most at peace. There is a special place in my heart for Disneyland and all of the memories I have had there. Halloween at Disneyland is my favorite time of year at the park (next to Christmas of course). Getting to spend time with my friends and family in the happiest place on earth is one of the best things about Disneyland. No matter who you are with, everyone is happy and excited to be there. I thought I'd share some photos with you all from my recent trips to Disneyland.

When I go to Disneyland,  I love to just enjoy my day and have a good time with the people I'm with. One of my favorite things to do is to get pictures with the characters. I know, the characters are meant more for the little kids but I'd be lying if I didn't say I walked very quickly when I saw Winnie the Pooh... Anyways, I like to believe that the characters keep the magic alive in our hearts because no matter how many times I see the characters, they always make me smile!

What do you love most about Disneyland?

I Love Fall Tag

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Fall is definitely my favorite season. When most people live for summer, I live for fall. I love chunky sweaters, big scarfs, dark lip colors, endless pumpkin pie, football on the television, and of course Halloween. For this post I thought it would be fun to do the "I Love Fall Tag" and share with you everything I love about this time of year.

Favorite Fall Lip Product?
Berry lips! I wait all year long to wear berry and dark lip colors. My favorites are Topshop's The Damned, Revlon's Plum Velour, Covergirl's Jumbo Gloss Balm in Jam Twist, and Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Stick in Plum Jam

Favorite Fall Nail Polish?

Essie's Bahama Mama is by far the most autumnal you'll get in a nail polish, even though the name makes it seem more like a summer shade. The color is a deep plum and goes on smoothly in just two coats. Some Essie polishes are known for chipping easily, but I find that I can wear this polish for four to five days before seeing any wear on my nails. Last year, I wore this polish for the majority of fall and I will probably repeat that this year.

Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink?
I don't drink coffee and I am not too fond of hot drinks, so I'm sure you're wondering what could possibly be my favorite Starbucks fall drink. Well, I have to say that I do love their Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate. I know, not very original picking something pumpkin spice but hey, it tastes like heaven!

Favorite Fall Candle?
You don't know, (but will know soon) that I have an unhealthy obsession with candles, especially Bath & Body Works seasonal candles. Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin from Bath & Body Works is the best fall candle in the world! You must get this candle or at least go give it a sniff in the store because trust me, you will fall in love.

Favorite Fall Scarf or Accessory?
Scarfs are my favorite accessory this time of year. They add extra color, texture, and warmth to any outfit. My favorite for fall is my mauve scarf from the BP collection at Nordstrom. It's not only light and soft, but it still keeps you warm when you're out in the crisp autumn weather.

Haunted House, Haunted Hayride, or Haunted Corn Maze?
I love Halloween and I love corn mazes, just not haunted ones. To me, corn mazes are more than just fun. They're a mixture of a puzzle and a memory game all at the same time. It's just a corn maze at night is scary enough for me, so I choose just a corn maze not a haunted one.

Favorite Halloween Movie?
Hocus Pocus is my absolute favorite Halloween movie. If you haven't seen it, you must watch it!

Favorite Halloween Candy?
Candy Corn and Candy Pumpkins are so addicting this time of year!

What are you dressing up as for Halloween?
It's a secret.. but you will soon find out.

What is you favorite thing about Fall?
The things that I love the most about fall would definitely be the crisp air and changing colors. Fall just feels like the world is new and starting over. And of course, the start of the holiday season just brings a smile to my face.

So let me know, what do you love the most about fall?

The Pumpkin Patch With My Pumpkin

Friday, October 17, 2014

There's no place better than a pumpkin patch in October. This is one of the things that I love about living in the country compared to the city. I love wandering the fields looking at all the unique pumpkins and picking one of my own. Many of the pumpkins are still growing and not quite ready to be picked so there's no worrying about the farm running out. The farm also does a corn maze every year each with a different design. Last Saturday night I conquered the corn maze with my sister Emily and my friend Ashley (whom I credit for being a master at maneuvering this years maze). My next challenge was to pick out a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. This year I decided to bring Cooper along because he had never been to the pumpkin patch before. Here are some photos from our trip to our local pumpkin patch.

Cooper and I had so much fun picking out a pumpkin and we hope you enjoyed seeing Cooper's first time at the pumping patch. Do you remember your first time at a pumpkin patch?

What's in my Bag?

Tuesday, October 14, 2014

A girls bag is always stuffed full with essentials that truly represent her personality. I thought it would be fun to share with you all the things that can always be found in my bag.

Bag
The newest edition to my purse collection is my Rebecca Minkoff Hudson Moto Mini in the color Tortora, which I am currently obsessed with!

Cards
I carry an assortment of cards such as Sephora, Ulta, Disneyland, Starbucks, but also my drivers license and debit cards, but didn't want to photograph them (for obvious reasons).

Lipstick
I am currently loving the Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Lust for Blush and my all time favorite MAC Lipstick in Syrup.

Hand Sanitizer
As you may know, I have a not so secret obsession with hand sanitizer and I carry it in my dalmatian holder from Bath & Body Works.

Hair Band and Bobby Pins
I always carry an extra hair band and bobby pins because you just never know when you're going to have a hair emergency and need them.

Powder
I carry the Bourjois Healthy Balance Powder for whenever I need a little touch up.

Powder Brush
The Real Techniques Retractable Kabuki Brush lives in my purse. I like that it has a lid so the brush is covered and it doesn't get dirty in my purse.

Sunglasses
I always have my Kate Spade sunglasses.

Gum
My favorite gum brand is Eclipse.

Mints

Perfume
Currently loving the Elizabeth and James Nirvana White Rollerball perfume.

Lip Balm
I love to carry the Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm because it's clear and has SPF for those days when you need a little lip protection.

Pen
Because you should always carry one.

Phone
Of course everyone should always carry their phone with them.

What do you always carry in your bag?

Fall Trend Alert: Matte Lips

Wednesday, October 8, 2014

Matte lips have been my favorite trend this month, but it's so hard to find a drugstore brand with decent matte lip products that won't dry out your lips. I already have fairly dry lips to begin with, so sometimes it's hard for me to find a matte lipstick that works well for me. This past month Maybelline launched their new Creamy Matte Lipsticks and I was curious to see how well they lived up to their name. So I went on a mission, purchased five shades, and put them to the test. Now, I can truly say that these are the best matte lipsticks offered at the drugstore. The formula is creamy and dries matte, but it still feels hydrating on the lips. I would highly recommend this product to anyone because they come in a good assortment of colors that range from day use to bold statement lips. You can easily purchase these at Ulta, CVS, Walgreens or any local drugstore, but I find that they are cheapest at Target, where I purchased all of mine.

                           Touch of Spice

This lip color a pink brown shade that is perfect if you're trying to emulate the same look people rocked in the 90's. Someone who has been using a shade often like this is Kylie Jenner. I would say A Touch of Spice is the perfect dupe for what she has been wearing, which is said to be the MAC Lip Pencil in Soar.

This shade is a blush toned pink with more of a natural look that can be worn for everyday use or be paired with a strong smokey eye. This color is definitely my favorite and most worn shade out of all the ones that I have bought.

If I could wear this color everyday I would! This is a bold (but not too bright) rosy pink shade with a purple undertone. It's like a toned down and more wearable Barbie pink. What's great about colors like this is that they can be worn all year round. A lot of people might be afraid to wear such a bright pink color in the fall or winter, but I say go for it!

This lipstick shade is a true magenta color. It's the color you can wear during the fall or winter when you still want to wear a bright and bold pink. I find that this color matches perfectly with a simple golden eye and lots of mascara!

If you're looking for that perfect vampy red brown color for the upcoming fall and winter seasons, then this is the lipstick for you! I like to wear this lipstick more soft as a berry stained lip, but you can still wear it more full on for a bold look. Divine Wine is another one of the colors that I picked as a homage to the 90s where deep lip colors were all the rage.

My Not So Secret Obsession

Thursday, October 2, 2014

You will find in all my bags, purses, and even my car at least one (if not more) hand sanitizers. I believe that carrying hand sanitizer with you at all times is very important. Just think about all of the things you touch at work, school, or any public areas. And then, if you're like me, you have a bad habit of touching your face. Now any germs that were on your hands are now on your face. As important as it is to try to not touch your face because you might transfer germs, you should also be extra cautious and clean your hands with hand sanitizer before you eat, leave work, during shopping, or at anytime you touch something that can transfer germs. I know that not all germs are bad, but trust me just making a habit of carrying hand sanitizer and using it regularly has made such a difference in my life, especially for my skin.

The place that I love to get my hand sanitizers from is Bath & Body Works. They almost always do the buy 5 for $5 which is a great deal! Every season there are new scents, so obviously for autumn I'm obsessed with the pumpkin scents. Bath & Body Works hand sanitizer is anti-bacterial, doesn't dry out your hands, and of course the scent really lingers for a while after use.

What's your favorite Bath & Body Works sanitizer scent?
